Artist Ljupka Deleva
Born in Gevgelija in 1970, she has been living and working in Venice since 2001. She graduated from the Faculty of Fine Arts in Skopje in 1994. She has had solo exhibitions at the CIX (1998) and Stepen (2001) galleries and group exhibitions at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Skopje, the Museum of the City of Skopje, the Culture and Information Centre, the National Gallery of Macedonia and others. She has also exhibited in Venice and the Veneto region, notably in 2009 at the collateral exhibitions of the 53rd Biennale of Arts in Venice, in Forte Marghera, with her exhibition Crossing. She explores the hidden realms of the inner being and appearance of individuals in society. She also addresses engaged topics. In Italy, she has expanded her interests in design, recycled art installations, and public art works. The creation of her own foundation, a bridge of culture and art between Macedonia and Italy, is currently underway.
